Another Bible Hand-Out: A Different Kind of Yes

Due to a change of leadership, the presentation was optional to attend. With this, we saw that there were some who chose not to attend. We were heartbroken, not because we had a Bible for them, but because we wanted them to know the true and living God, Jesus Christ.

So we started praying quietly in the back of the room.

And the most amazing thing happened.

We recognized that each one there had chosen to be there, and that changed the conversation we had. We freely talked about a relationship with Jesus, what that looks like, and those who have inspired us in the past with their faith.

Then, with their permission, we prayed out loud and publicly, right there in the classroom. Not only did we pray, but we invited the graduates to pray over their class. Right where they were, some began praying out loud from their seats, and others stood up and prayed.

It’s hard to even put into words what that felt like. You could sense the Holy Spirit moving. It was powerful in a way that words can’t explain.

And those who didn’t attend?

We watched their swim buddies take their Bibles with full confidence, assuring us they would get into the hands of those not there. Not a single Bible was left on the table. As we were leaving, we even saw one of those Bibles passed along, and with joy, this graduate responded with “Cool! Thanks!” This is what we have prayed for all along. That OCF would be for SEALs by SEALs. And today we witnessed this on full display.

Needless to say, we were holding back tears as we watched it all unfold. Praise God for moving in a way that only he can!
